Save That Cart

How itworks.

The mechanics for the merchant who wants to see under the hood before trusting it at checkout. Plain, concrete, honest about the edges.

1. The offer

Tiered by cart value.

You configure the offer stack once:

Free shipping as the entry tier, from a cart value you choose. Bronze and Silver discount tiers above it, each set to a percentage or a fixed amount, each with its own cart-value range. A bigger cart earns a better offer, which quietly raises average order value while it converts. A toggle lets a discount tier include free shipping too.

2. The countdown

A timer in the cart, not a siren.

Once the offer appears, a live countdown gives the customer a reason to finish checkout now instead of "later." You set the length, from 5 to 60 minutes; 10 is the default. The urgency is real but calm: a timer in the cart, not a siren.

3. First-time customers only

The incentive goes to the newcomer.

The offer shows to first-time customers and stays hidden from returning ones. That's the margin argument in one sentence: the incentive goes to the person who has never bought from you, not to the regular who was buying anyway. Detection runs in the customer's own browser, which is exactly what lets us collect nothing about them.

4. Applies natively

No coupon codes.

When the customer checks out, the offer applies through Shopify's own discount system (a native Shopify Function), not a script taped over your checkout. Nothing to copy, nothing to paste, nothing to break when Shopify updates.

5. Privacy

No customer data collected, and provable.

Save That Cart stores your offer settings and anonymous totals. It does not store customer names, emails, phones, addresses, or browsing behavior. There is no CRM to connect, no consent banner to add, no data agreement to review. You can verify this in the permissions the app requests at install: there are no customer-data scopes to grant, because we never ask for them.

6. Setup

Two steps, kept honest.

Embed the app block in your theme editor, then activate it in the app. They're two different switches, and offers only show when both are on. The app walks you through both; most merchants are done in minutes, on any Shopify plan, no developer needed.

7. What to know

Positive-honest edges.

  • The in-app preview uses placeholder fonts; the live offer inherits your theme's typography automatically.
  • Browser-based first-time detection is privacy-first by design; a determined customer who clears their browser data could see the offer again. We think that trade is worth it, and we'd rather tell you than have you find out.
  • If a customer is mid-checkout when the countdown ends, their offer completes. We don't yank a deal out of a customer's hands at the payment step.
